I just got a Nokia 6555 phone and Leopard's iSync didn't support it. So, I did what any respectable computer nerd would do and wrote a plugin myself. Here's the download page.
Until now the only way to get stuff from my iMac to this Nokia was
1. iCal -> MS Entourage
2. MS Entourage -> Palm TX (via HotSync)
3. Palm TX -> MS Windows computer with MS Outlook (via HotSync)
4. Outlook -> Nokia (via Nokia PC Suite)
Phew!
There is a minor bug however, as the Calendar on the phone is not getting the "Notes" fields of events (the torturous way it does).
Despite being a helpless novice with respect to all things technological, I was able to sync my contacts to my Nokia 6555 without difficulty thanks to your plugin and George's instructions. In case it's worth noting, I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 on a MacBook Pro.
Thanks for this plugin!!!
I was able to get it to work with Tiger(10.4.10) w/ iSync 2.4 by copying the extracted folder to the iSync-app-plugin folder. To copy the extracted folder to iSync-app-plugin folder do the following:
1. Ctrl-click the iSync application in the finder and select "show package contents".
2. Copy the extracted folder(Nokia-6555.phoneplugin) from the plugin-tarball above to the "Contents\Plugins\ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\Contents\
Plugins\" directory.
I have only tried syncing one-way for iCal -> nokia 6555 and so far it works. The AddressBook syncing seems to work in both directions.
Hmm, I'll take a look at it this weekend. So far I haven't had a reason to sync my phone to iCal (only the other way around). I'll post an update on the download page either way within a few days on what's going on.
Thanks tons for the plugin. So far, it's work great for syncing the Address Book in both directions. The calendar, however, only seems to sync in one direction i.e. from iCal to the phone and not the other way. I've tried it several times and it just doesn't work.
I'm running Leopard on a PowerBook G4 with a Nokia 6555.
